Painting Retreats Summer 2010

Enjoy a beautiful country setting with homegrown, homemade meals, and the finest of western hospitality at the Bloomin' Inn Bed & Breakfast just east of Pincher Creek, Alberta only two hours south of Calgary.
Immerse yourself in painting! These painting retreats offer the best of instruction complemented by a most creative place to work. Build your painting inventory, work on ‘fine tuning' personal style, fill the creative well AND have a great holiday. Choose your painting subject from the many gardens; create a still life, tackle the vast landscape, or take on the ‘wildlife' (the cows, sheep, chickens, turkeys and geese) - it is a working ranch after all.
Instructional lectures, personal painting critiques and some painting demonstration make this a rich experience. You will have abundant painting time and you may choose to paint indoors or out. The studio is open 24 hours a day! Your creativity will flourish in the inspirational surroundings and you will not want to miss the opportunities to stock up on reference material, so don't forget your camera!

Energy Treatment: If you are feeling tired, disconnected or drained of energy you may wish to pamper yourself with an energy bodywork treatment. Energy bodywork is a gentle energetic healing process that promotes balancing and clearing of blocked energy centers, pathways and channels. Experienced therapist Gwen Ritch of Yoga Kinetics will be offering treatments during the retreat so let us know if you are interested in having a wonderful, gentle revitalizing treatment during your stay.
Massage Therapy: Also available is a wonderful massage therapist. Simone offers relaxation and therapeutic massage treatments that will take all the built up stress away and leave you refreshed, relaxed and receptive to painting!
Please let us know if you are interested in either of these treatments and we can schedule them in during your stay at the ranch. You will pay the practitioner at the time of your treatment.
Note: All workshop prices are based on camp-style (shared) accommodation. If you require a separate room or if you are bringing a spouse or partner please let us know your accommodation needs when you are booking.
Painting Retreat #1 - Weekend Getaway I
Painting Retreat #1 Friday, July 9th - Monday, July 12th , 2010
Escape for a long weekend and immerse yourself in painting! Arrive Friday afternoon, get settled in, enjoy dinner and socializing with fellow participants. Paint until Monday, July 12th. Check in is at 4:30 PM on Friday and check out on Monday morning after breakfast so you can stretch that weekend out and really enjoy yourself. The scenery is fantastic and the farm itself offers more painting subjects than you can handle even on a long weekend so bring that camera and build your photo file as well.

Painting Retreat #2: The Week Long Retreat

Pamper yourself with a whole week away. Arrive Sunday, July 11th and stay for a full week of painting, photography, and sketching that will inspire you for months to come. This retreat may include a day trip to Waterton National Park if participants are interested. In addition to lunch at the historical Prince of Wales Hotel you will have a great opportunity to collect more painting ideas with camera and sketch book. As part of the Pincher Creek Art Walk participants will have an additional field trip to the Kootenai Brown Pioneer Museum in Pincher Creek. The gardens and buildings at the museum offer additional material to round out your creative week.

Paint until Monday, July 19th Check in is 4:30 PM on Friday and check out is after lunch on Monday.
