| Loretta Secord |
Loretta is a Western Canadian artist now residing in Calgary. She began her study of drawing and painting at a young age, later advancing to studies at the University of Lethbridge and ACAD. She studied under artists as Ken Auster and Joe Abbressia. As well, she attended many workshops in North America and Europe. Loretta has had numerous major art exhibitions across Canada, and has many paintings on display in places as Japan, New Mexico, and France. Her ability to capture the movement and the expression of her subjects has brought numerous commissions from across the country. Through her expressive way of painting she lets the colours sing and tell the story. Falling away from detailed work to a more expressive mark, she adds a new dimension to her craft. Loretta has developed a style that comes through cleanly and forcefully. Influenced by the Masters, Emily Carr and the Impressionists, this Western Canadian artist has developed her own path and is constantly striving to achieve perfection in her work. Despite successes she is humbled by the amount yet to learn and accomplish. ©2009, Loretta SecordCurrently teaching:{Monthly Classes}
