Date & Time: July 21, 1:00 - 4:00 pm, 2025 July 22, 1:00 - 4:00 pm, 2025 July 23, 1:00 - 4:00 pm, 2025 July 24, 1:00 - 4:00 pm, 2025 Ages 10 - 18 Instructor: Ashley Gaboury, BFA Medium: Inking, Markers, Colouring, Drawing Popular with adults and teens alike, Manga is a well-known style of drawing seen in Japanese comic books. This class will focus on developing inking and colouring techniques and help to bring characters and creatures to life. We will explore drawing dynamic character poses, drawing eastern and Western dragons and other fandom-inspired characters/creatures in this session. Please bring printed images of your favourite Manga/Anime or Animated characters (e.g. Studio Ghibli is Anime, and Arcane is Japanese Animation), and creatures in their signature poses. Supplies included. Beginners welcome. Students are invited to bring their own set of pencil colours or art markers to this class (water-soluble or alcohol-based). Supplies needed - 9 x 12 Sketchbook 60lb or more - Sketching pencils – HB, 2B - .01 or .03 Permanent pen black - Faber-Castell or Copic - Brush nib pen – black - Faber-Castell or Copic - White soft colored pencil - Prismacolor Premier - White eraser - Small click eraser - Sharpener - Ruler 12" - White gel pen - 12 – 24 Soft Colored Pencils - Brick White or Warm Gray 1 Copic marker Optional 10 – 12 Artist’s quality markers - Copic or Tombow preferred (Optional) Marker paper – Strathmore suggested (Optional) Note: If using Tombow or other water-based markers please bring Bristol Board/Mixed Media paper instead of Marker Paper
